The following is the information regarding the dance classes: school terms / conditions, fee structure, dance programs etc. One should read and agree these terms before signing the enrolment form.
Arangetram Training:
We provide special training for Arangetram performance. Talk to us for more information
Admission: There is a $20 administration charge for new students (please note this is in addition to the term fee)
Fee: Term fee must be paid in FULL and in ADVANCE by cash or cheque.Term fee depends on the level a student is learning.
Dance Session:
• Weekly one-hour session. Number of classes varies each term and the fee is per term basis (10 classes). More than one child from the same family (excluding cousins and relatives) will be given 10% discount on the total fee.
• If a student misses a class, the class will not be covered. In case the school has to cancel a class due to some unforeseen circumstances, a substitute class will be arranged. Term fee must be paid in full at the beginning of every term.
Please note no refunds will be given if you miss a class. (from time to time you may attend the missed classes on a different day depending up on the availability and in consultation with the teacher)
Theory Study Material: Beginners--free, Intermediate -- $20 and Specialization -- $25
Student Assessment:
Rachana Natyalaya conducts an assessment exam (theory and practical) at the completion of each level. The successful students are presented with a certificate of completion.
Exam Fee: Beginners: $15, Intermediate: $25, Specialization: $30
Regarding dance classes / programmes:
• It is advised that students (girls) wear Shalwar Kammez during the dance class as it gives them more flexibility and it is a tradition.
• All the students are given adequate exposure, to participate in the programs.
• Rachana Natyalaya will be conducting school dance shows and every student is encouraged to take part in the school dance program.
• When a student is selected for a dance program parents should make sure their child
attend all the practices and be prepared with the costume / jewellary / makeup material etc.
• In some circumstances, a program practice class is considered as a regular class and will be counted towards term class.
• In case we have to hire a hall for program practices, then there may be additional charges involved, and payable by all the students participating in the program.
• Students participating in the programs need to spend money for their costume and makeup.
• There will be no fixed batches; those who perform well are shifted automatically in to the next available advanced batch.
• Latest items choreographed and practiced at school are NOT to be performed at your private functions, as we need to perform them on stage in a group.
• Rachana Natyalaya offers separate lessons to students who want to learn a dance
item to perform for their private function. Contact us for more details.
• Rachana Natyalaya also takes orders for Classical costumes, Jewellary, makeup
material etc. Items (costume / Jewellary / video cassettes etc) once sold cannot be taken
back, exchanged and no refund given as these items will be specially ordered for you from
overseas, so please choose carefully.
Practice Video Cassettes:
Rachana Natyalaya has practice video cassettes for students learning dance. These cassettes help the student practice all the steps, jathis, items etc at home. It is like a lifetime video they can refer to it whenever they forget a step or item. You can place order for:

Special Note:
Parents / Guardians / Grand Parents are not allowed inside the classroom while the class is going on. This helps us concentrate more on the dance with out any disturbance and loss of concentration to the teacher and students while choreographing / practicing an item during the class. As a parent, you can check the progress of your child by discussing with the teacher. Moreover, if necessary you will be given a time to watch your child’s class. We expect every one will follow this procedure please.
Specialization students will conduct some classes as part of their teaching skills training to the junior students.
Health History:
Please contact your doctor if you have any medical condition to get the clearance to join the dance classes as it involves complete body movement and physical workout.
Disclaimer and Liability Waiver:
The student who received this application (or where the student is below 18yr of age, the parent or guardian) hereby confirms that the student has been advised by a competent medical doctor that he or she is medically, mentally and physically fit to participate in the dance classes/ shows /events organized by Rachana Natyalaya, and that he or she no physical or mental conditions that may affect his or her ability to do so.
It is expressly understood by the student and or the students parents or guardian as the case may be (hereinafter referred to as student for the sake of convenience), that it is not compulsory to participate in the dance classes, shows events organized by Rachana Natyalaya. The student expressly confirms and states to Rachana Natyalaya that he or she has voluntarily chosen to participates and or perform out of his or her own freewill and not under any kind of pressure from Rachana Natyalaya its representatives, instructors or anyone whatsoever to do so with Rachana Natyalaya.
The student understands, acknowledges and accepts that participation in the dance classes/shows/events organized by Rachana Natyalaya is a strenuous physical activity and may involve risk of accident, injury to the student’s person or property or loss of life or harm of any nature to any student or student’s parent, guardian, relative or friend at or around the class or show venue the student is expressly agrees and acknowledges that Rachana Natyalaya shall not be responsible and or liable for the loss, injury, loss of life, harm or damage caused and the student shall further be liable to Rachana Natyalaya for all loss and or damage suffered by Rachana Natyalaya and or its representatives, instructors, employees, etc. virtue thereof.
Notwithstanding the above, in the event of any injury or other medical conditions that the student may experience during any of the classes or shows, the student authorizes Rachana Natyalaya to administer or procure the administration of medical treatment as deemed fit by qualified medical personnel if he / she is not able to act on his / her own behalf and agrees not to make any claim against Rachana Natyalaya and or such medical practitioners, where for negligence and or malpractice or otherwise. The student further agrees and acknowledges that he or she will be exclusively liable and responsible for all costs, expenses and claims resulting from such medical attention provided, and shall reimburse to Rachana Natyalaya any sums expended by it in this regard.
The student shall further indemnify Rachana Natyalaya in respect of any claims, demands, losses or decrees, orders or awards that may be made against Rachana Natyalaya and or its representative, tutors, instructors, employees, etc. in this regard. The student shall further indemnify Rachana Natyalaya for all losses, damages and injury caused, resulting from or in any way attribute to any illness, accident, injury of any of the members of Rachana Natyalaya occasioned my any act or omission of the student.
Rachana Natyalaya reserves the right to reject the participation of the student in any classes and or shows for reasons of inability, behavior endangering the safety, welfare of himself or herself and or others. No refund will be made to the student on account of such rejection or the student’s own inability to participate therein.
Rachana Natyalaya dance classes, programs, participated events will be shown or covered by the media. Your enrolment with Rachana Natyalaya confirms that you have no objection to the same and will co-operate with Rachana Natyalaya for all such publicity, television and media coverage and publishing of dance photographs, video on Rachananatyalaya website and some public websites like YouTube or any other file sharing websites.

Admitting your child for dance classes confirms that the student and the parent’s / guardian agree for the above terms and conditions.
